How to use the cutter and precautions

(1) Preparations before gas cutting:

① Check the usage status of the equipment and whether the surrounding environment is safe;

②Remove dirt, etc.;

③ Stake out according to the drawing;

④ Elevate the cut piece and make it stable;

⑤ Check the injection and suction performance of the cutting torch;

⑥ Check whether the wind line is in good condition;

⑦Adjust the energy rate and properties of the preheating flame;

⑧Try cutting after the above preparations are completed.

(2) Operation technique: the use method of gas cutting, the operation of gas cutting is divided into four steps: ignition, start cutting, normal gas cutting and stop cutting.

Ignition: Before ignition, first turn on acetylene, then slightly open the oxygen valve, and use a torch or a match to ignite. Under normal circumstances, a special flint gun should be used for ignition. In the absence of a flint gun, matches can also be used to ignite, but attention must be paid to the safety of the operator and not to be burned by the sprayed flame. At the beginning, it is a carbonizing flame. At this time, the oxygen flow should be gradually increased, and the flame should be adjusted to a neutral flame or a slightly oxidizing flame.

Cutting start: The cutting start point should be selected at the edge of the cutting piece. First, heat the metal with a preheating flame. When the preheating is bright red, move the flame beyond the edge. Increase, bright red iron slag will fly out from the back of the cutting piece, proving that the workpiece has been cut through, and the cutting torch can start to move from right to left at an appropriate speed according to the thickness of the workpiece.

Normal gas cutting: After starting the cutting, the moving speed of the cutting torch should be uniform, and the distance between the cutting nozzle and the cutting piece should be controlled to be approximately equal to the length of the flame core by 2~4mm. The cutting nozzle can be tilted 20°~30° backwards (towards the forward direction of cutting). During the gas cutting process, if detonation and tempering occur, the cutting oxygen valve should be closed immediately, and then the preheating oxygen valve and acetylene valve should be closed in turn to suspend the gas cutting process. Use the through needle to remove the dirt in the channel. After the treatment is normal, gas cutting is performed again.

Stop cutting: At the end of the cutting, the torch should be tilted at an angle in the opposite direction of gas cutting, so as to cut through the lower part of the steel plate in advance, so that the cut appears neat at the end. Finally close the oxygen valve and the acetylene valve, and the whole gas cutting process is over.

When the thickness of the steel plate is more than 25mm, a large cutting torch and cutting nozzle should be used, and the preheating flame and cutting oxygen flow should be increased. During the gas cutting process, the cutting speed should be slow, and the horizontal crescent swing should be properly performed to widen the incision and discharge slag.
