What are the process methods of slitting knives

There are three common cutting process methods:

1. Trimming: A variety of materials are combined to form process trims, and products that meet the process requirements are obtained by cutting off the process trims reserved in the process. This cutting method is mostly used for the processing of materials such as composite films.

2. Roll cutting: Cut the whole roll of wide coil material into multiple rolls of narrow specification coil material through a high-speed circular knife. This cutting method is mostly used in the adhesive product industry.

3. Slitting: Cut the large-diameter material into multiple rolls and small-diameter materials according to the requirements of the winding length and width specifications. This cutting method is mostly used in the film substrate and flexible packaging color printing industry.

Generally, the slitting form of the slitter blade includes square knife slitting and round knife slitting.

1. The square knife slitting is like a razor, the blade is fixed on the knife holder of the slitting machine, and the knife is dropped during the material running process, so that the knife cuts the material longitudinally to achieve the purpose of slitting. Square slitter blades are mainly divided into single-sided blades and double-sided blades:

Single-sided blades are better for slitting thick films with strong rigidity, because the hard blades are not easy to shift when the slitting machine is at high speed, which ensures product quality. It is recommended to use single-sided blades with a thickness of 70-130um.

The double-sided blade is relatively soft, suitable for cutting thinner materials, so that the flatness of the film edge is guaranteed, and the service life can also be extended. It is recommended to use a double-sided blade when the thickness is below 70um.
