Types and characteristics of surgical blades

Surgical blades are a common medical device used in hospitals for cutting soft tissue. Surgical blades come in different specifications and types according to their different uses and needs. For example, surgical blades of different specifications such as 10, 11, 12, 15, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, etc. are suitable for different surgical operations.

The production materials of surgical blades have strict requirements, usually using T10 material specified in GB/T1298 or Cr06 material specified in GB/T1299, as well as other materials suitable for blade manufacturing. These materials need to have a certain degree of hardness and elasticity to ensure the performance of the blades during use. For example, the hardness of stainless steel materials should not be less than 650HV10, and the hardness of other materials should not be less than 750HV10124.

In addition to basic physical characteristics, the performance of surgical blades is also very important. The blade edge should be sharp and able to easily cut uncoated suture threads (with a diameter of 0.21mm~0.22mm) made from real silk, and the force applied during the cutting process should not exceed 0.80N.
